Rider profile: Bicycle commuter.
This means you obey all stop-signs and red-lights. Unfortunately that means you keep sitting duck at intersections. No matter how much you've done it, or whether it's a definite red light, it's still an unsettling feeling to just stop in the middle of the road on a bicycle.
(P.S. Happy are those who have Idaho-stop law, allowing cyclists to treat stop-signs as yield, which is pretty much what most cyclists and motorists are already doing anyway!)
Keep riding on the road. It's fine. Mostly.
